Mandandeupur

Mandandeupur (Nepali: मण्डनदेउपुर) is a municipality in Kavrepalanchok District of Bagmati Province of Nepal.[1]

Demographics

At the time of the 2011 Nepal census, Mandandeupur Municipality had a population of 32,768. Of these, 61.4% spoke Nepali, 27.2% Tamang, 5.1% Danuwar, 4.9% Newar, 0.8% Rai, 0.2% Maithili, 0.1% Gurung, 0.1% Magar and 0.1% other languages as their first language.[2]

In terms of ethnicity/caste, 34.9% were Hill Brahmin, 27.6% Tamang, 10.4% Chhetri, 6.5% Newar, 5.2% Danuwar, 3.0% Sarki, 2.5% Damai/Dholi, 2.4% Kami, 1.3% Gurung, 1.0% Majhi, 0.9% Sanyasi/Dasnami, 0.8% Gharti/Bhujel, 0.8% Magar, 0.8% Rai, 0.6% Thakuri, 0.5% Bhote, 0.3% other Dalit, 0.1% Musalman, 0.1% Sonar and 0.2% others.[3]

In terms of religion, 69.7% were Hindu, 26.6% Buddhist, 1.7% Prakriti, 1.6% Christian, 0.1% Muslim and 0.3% others.[4]

In terms of literacy, 65.5% could read and write, 3.8% could only read and 30.7% could neither read nor write.[5]
