María José Lora

María José Lora Loayza (born August 15, 1990) is a Peruvian model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Grand International 2017.[1]

Miss Grand Peru 2017

María José decided to compete in the 2017 edition of the Miss Peru pageant. She was appointed by the president of the Miss Peru Organization, Jessica Newton, to represent that country in the fifth edition of the Miss Grand International, as Miss Grand Peru.

Miss Grand International 2017

The 5th edition of Miss Grand International was held at the Vinpearl Resort & Villas on the islands of Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, where candidates from 76 countries and autonomous territories competed for the title and crown for 3 weeks.

At the end of the event, on October 25, 2017, María obtained the title of Miss Grand International 2017, surpassing the Venezuelan Tulia Alemán. Becoming the first South American woman to win said contest and the fourth for Latin America, after Anea García from the Dominican Republic who relinquished the title.
