Miss Grand Philippines 2023

Miss Grand Philippines 2023 will be the second edition of the Miss Grand Philippines pageant, scheduled to be held in June 2023, in Metro Manila.[1] The winner of the contest will represent Philippines in its parent international competition, Miss Grand International 2023, to be held in Vietnam on October 25.[2]

This edition will be considered the first Miss Grand Philippines to be held under the management of the ALV Pageant Circle after Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. withdrew from the franchise.[3]

Background

Since the inaugural edition happened in 2014,[4][5][6] no Miss Grand Philippines pageant has been held independently to elect the titleholders; the country representatives at Miss Grand International were determined through another national pageant, Binibining Pilipinas,[3][4] until a pageant organizer chaired by Arnold Vegafria, ALV Events International, purchased the license in 2023 when the second edition of Miss Grand Philippines was expected to be held.[7][8][9]

The press conference of the pageant was held earlier on November 26, 2022, at the Hilton Manila; the event was also attended by the president of Miss Grand International, Nawat Itsaragrisil, as well as Miss Grand International 2022, Isabella Menin of Brazil.[1]

Selection of contestants

The national aspirants for the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 will be determined through both regional pageants and central auditions.[3][10][11] An application for the audion round held by the central organizer was officially opened on March 18,[3][10] with a deadline of May 31.[12] The ALV Pageant Circle also signed an agreement with the local government of Pangasinan that the winner of the annual "Limgas na Pangasinan" pageant will automatically qualify to join the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant.[11]
