History

In October 2014, ex-Séléka militia led by General Ali Darassa attacked Matchika. They killed several people and burned the houses. As a result, the villagers fled to the bush.[1]

CPC stopped a truck heading towards Alindao and killed 15 truck passengers on 5 October 2021.[2] They also burned trucks and two motorcycles.[3] Responding to the massacre, the UN sent its peacekeepers to Matchika to collect more information about the attack.[4]

Education

The village has one school.[5]
