Project pause
In 2023, the Andrews government officially confirmed that the construction was paused until a review of the country's pipeline was completed.
Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan confirmed that the work was temporarily halted, as well as the Clyde, McGregor, and Racecourse road projects. Allan confirmed that all the workers for the project will be redeployed to other infrastructure projects.[4]
