Michelle Zacarias
Michelle Zacarias is a journalist who graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy)[1] who has written for Teen Vogue among others. She won the Saul Miller Excellence in Journalism Award in 2018.[2] She is an adjunct instructor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and is working towards a Masters in Studies of Law at the USC Gould School of Law.[1]
A native of the West Side, Chicago, Zacarias is also a disabled, queer Latina organizer. She is a founder of the Trans Liberation Collective (TLC) to fight anti transgender bathroom bills.[3]
She was inducted to the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame in 2020.[3]
