Quota was presented in 1992[3] with 1000 cm³ motorization and produced up to 2001; the latest versions from 1998 benefited from an increase in the displacement at 1064 cm³ named 1100 ES.[4][5][6] Other modifications were a lower saddle, a front with a newly designed unified headlight, brakes Brembo, fork stems of larger diameter.

This motorcycle is a big one enduro credited by an frame is engine (in the usual twin-cylinder configuration a V). Compared to the other Guzzi models of the period equipped by the same type of engine, the delivery of the power has been slightly sweetened to simplify use in off-road.

Certainly its weight, of about 245 kg, did not favor driving on dirt roads, on the other hand it was equipped with an agility for the size and the fairing fairly extensive was protective even a speed high, favoring its use both road that highway.

The failure to relaunch the commercial motorcycle house dell'Aquila provoked, at this beautiful and innovative bike, poor advertising.

The acquisition by Aprilia, which in the meantime had presented the ETV 1000 Caponord, marked the end of its production. At the end of 2007, Moto Guzzi replaced it with the new model Stelvio.
