Moulsham is a mixed gender Academy for 11 - 18 year olds, located in Chelmsford, Essex.[1]

The Headteacher is Julia Mead.[2] There were 76 teaching staff in 2019.[3]

There were 1578 pupils enrolled in 2021/2022.[4]

History

The Moulsham High School was built in 1938 as two separate schools one for senior boys, and one for senior girls. The two schools merged to become mixed school it is today in 1972 . [5] The head teacher for the boys were Jock Hutchinson (1938 to 1950), Mr. Smith (1950-1972), Hedley B. Andrews (1972-1990) Dr. C. J. Nicholls (1991-2010), and M. Farmer (2010-2019).[5] For the girls school, head teachers were Ms. Sayers (Brown) (1938-1942), Ms. Portzi, and Ms. Golledge.[5] The current head teacher for the mixed gender school since 2019 is Ms. Julia Mead.[2]
