Paweensuda Drouin

Jennifer Paweensuda Saetan-Drouin (Thai: เจนนิเฟอร์ ปวีณสุดา แซ่ตั่น ดรูอิ้น; born 12 October 1993) is a Thai model, television host, DJ, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2019, and represented Thailand in the Miss Universe 2019 competition.

Drouin was born in Thailand and raised in Canada. She began her career as a model and a DJ after returning to Thailand as an adult. After placing as the first runner-up in Miss Thailand 2013 and second runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2017, she was appointed Miss Earth Thailand 2017 and went on to place in the top eight at Miss Earth 2017.

Early life

Jennifer Paweensuda Saetan-Drouin was born on 12 October 1993 in Thailand.[1] She is often affectionately referred to by her nickname, Fahsai. Her mother is Thai Chinese while her Canadian father is of Cuban-French descent. Drouin was raised in Canada.[1] After finishing high school, she enrolled in the University of Calgary. In 2017, she graduated with a degree in kinesiology. She began her career as a DJ in Bangkok after returning to Thailand as an adult.[2][3][4]

Pageantry

Drouin began her pageantry career in Thailand in 2013, entering the Miss Thailand Chinese Cosmos 2013 competition; wher she finished in second place. Afterwards, she was selected to represent Thailand in the Miss Chinese Cosmos Southeast Asia 2013 competition in Malaysia, where she was placed in the top eight.[4] In December 2013, she competed in Miss Thailand 2013 and finished as the first runner-up; the winner of Miss Thailand is not sent to any international competitions.[5][2][6]

After Miss Thailand, Drouin focused on her education. She returned in 2017, competing in Miss Universe Thailand 2017. She went on to place as the second runner up to Maria Poonlertlarp and won the special award, Miss Smile. Following Miss Universe Thailand 2017, Drouin represented Thailand at Miss Earth 2017, where she placed in the top eight.[7][8] Two years later, Drouin returned, and competed in Miss Universe Thailand 2019, winning the competition, and was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Sophida Kanchanarin and Catriona Gray of the Philippines, who had been crowned Miss Universe 2018.[9][10][11] In the competition, she won the Best Swimsuit, Perfect Poses, Miss Popular Vote awards, and was one of ten contestants awarded the Golden Tiara. Drouin represented Thailand at Miss Universe 2019.[2] and placed as a top five finalist.[12][13]
