Queer (film)
Queer is an upcoming romantic period drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes, based on the 1985 novel of the same name by William S. Burroughs. Set in 1940s Mexico City, the film follows an outcast American expat who becomes infatuated with a younger man. It stars Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey.

Premise
Set in 1940s Mexico City, it follows Lee who has fled from a drug bust in New Orleans. In Mexico City, Lee wanders around the city's clubs and becomes infatuated with a discharged American Navy serviceman named Allerton, a drug user.[1]

Production
It was announced in December 2022 that Daniel Craig was in talks to star in the film, which would see Guadagnino direct, with Justin Kuritzkes penning the adaptation.[2] In April 2023, Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henry Zaga were added to the cast.[1]
Principal photography began on the last week of April 2023, in Rome. The movie was filmed in its entirety at Cinecittà Studios.[1] Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, will serve as costume designer, marking his second collaboration with Guadagnino.[1][3]
