Ranga Maarthaanda

Ranga Maarthaanda (lit.'The Sun of Theatre') is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by Krishna Vamsi.[1] It stars Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam in the lead roles along with Shivathmika Rajashekar, Rahul Sipligunj, Ali Reza, Anasuya Bharadwaj in supporting roles.[2] The film is produced by Kalipu Madhu, S. Venkat Reddy under the banner of Rajashyamala Entertainments, Housefull Movies and Mythri Movie Makers. The film features music scored by Ilaiyaraaja, with cinematography by Raj K Nalli, and editing by Pavan VK. It is a remake of the 2016 Marathi film Natsamrat. The film opened to positive reviews and became a commercial success.[3]

Plot

Raghava Rao (Prakash Raj) receives the title Rangamarthanda for his outstanding performances but retires from the stage to spend more time with his wife, Raju Garu (Ramya Krishnan), and children. Rangarao (Aadarsh Balakrishna) and Sri (Shivathmika Rajashekar) are their children. Rangarao marries Geeta (Anasuya Bharadwaj), and Sree marries Rahul (Rahul Sipligunj). Raghava Rao leaves all of his money and assets to his children, hoping that they will look after him and his wife. However, Raghava Rao encounters surprises in this chapter of his life, particularly their children's failure to treat him with the same love and respect he had shown them.[4]

Ranga Maarthanda, was released in theaters on March 22, 2023. It was later made available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 7, 2023.
