SJVN
SJVN, formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, a Mini Ratna, Category-I and Schedule–‘A’ CPSE under administrative control of Ministry of Power (India), Government of India, is an Indian public sector undertaking involved in hydroelectric power generation and transmission. It was incorporated in 1988 as Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.[3][4] The company has a total operating hydropower capacity of 1912 MW through its two hydropower plants—Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur.

In addition, it has an installed capacity of 97.6 MW of wind power and 81.9 MW of solar power.[5][6]
Beginning with a single project and single State operation (i.e. India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh), the Company has commissioned eight projects totaling 2091.5 MW of installed capacity and 86 km 400 KV Transmission Line. SJVN is presently implementing or operating power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Odisha, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh in India.
Apart from India, SJVN also has under-construction hydroelectric projects in Nepal and Bhutan.[7][8][9]

Portfolio
SJVN aims to be a 5000 MW company by 2023, 25000 MW company by 2030 and 50000 MW company by 2040. Presently, total project portfolio of SJVN is 45,409 MW, out of which 2091.5 MW is under operation, 4438 MW is under Construction, 20992 MW is under Pre-construction and S&I stage. Capacity of 5097 MW identified by Ministry of Power (India), Government of India in Dibang basin of Arunachal Pradesh and Pumped Storage projects (PSPs) of 12790 MW capacity are under allotment.

Transmission Projects Portfolio
SJVN commissioned 86 km long 400 kV double circuits Indo-Nepal Cross Border Power Transmission corridor between Sursand (Indo-Nepal border) and Muzaffarpur on 19.02.2016 in JV–Cross-border Power Transmission Company (CPTC)-with Power Grid, IL&FS Energy Development Company and Nepal Electricity Authority. The same was dedicated to the two Nations jointly by Hon’ble Prime Ministers of India and Nepal on 20.02.2016. In addition to above, Company is engaged in implementation of 400 kV double circuit associated transmission line of 217 km long from Arun-3 HEP pot head yard to Bathnaha on Indo-Nepal Border in Nepal.
Power Trading
SJVN has been granted Category “I” License for Inter-State Trading in Electricity in whole of India by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission vide Order dated 10th January 2022.
SJVN will now be trading electricity generated by any public & private generating entity. Company plans to develop robust systems for Market Research, Forecasting & Management such as Load Forecasting, Load Management, Weather-Based Load Curve Estimation, Risk Mitigation etc. By effectively implementing these systems, future demand & supply gap can be anticipated thereafter fulfilling the requirements of the customers.
SJVN endeavor is to facilitate Power Trading by creating Pan-India network of buyers & sellers. SJVN shall focus on fulfilling power supply demands across States while addressing seasonal and regional variance of demand & supply.
