Samen

Samen (Persian: سامن, also Romanized as Sāmen and Sāman)[2] is a city in Hamadan Province, Iran and the capital of Samen District, in Malayer County. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,025, in 1,207 families.[3]

The local language in Samen is Persian.[4]

Underground City

A subterranean city was discovered beneath Samen, consisting of 25 rooms.[5] The city is believed to be around 2,300 years old, and since its discovery and excavation has been preserved in order to become a tourist attraction and for further study.
