Sandakozhi (TV series)

Sandakozhi is an 2023 Indian Tamil-language television series, which began airing on 8 May 2023 on Zee Tamil.[1] The main plot of the series was taken from Zee Tamil's drama series Poove Poochudava that aired from 24 April 2017 to 4 September 2021. The series stars Riya Vishwanathan and Niyaz Khan.[2][3]

Plot

The story revolves around Mahalakshmi and Vikram. They meet in an automobile accident and instantly hate each other. Mahalakshmi is a bold, independent, and bubbly girl, who is very well-educated and outspoken. Vikram is ambitious and wants to start something on his own, while his father insists that he takes care of the family real-estate business. Vikram isn't so generous and understanding too when it comes to girls, and the stark difference in opinion results in Vikram and Mahalakshmi quarrelling quite often. But under some unique circumstances, they join hands to help their siblings get married. However, Vikram soon falls in love with Mahalakshmi, which creates further they are get married.

Casting

Riya Vishwanathan[6] was cast in the female lead role as Mahalakshmi. Niyaz Khan was chosen to play the male lead role as Vetrivel.[7]

Release

The show started airing on Zee Tamil[8] on 8 May 2023, replacing Rettai Roja.[9]
