Shakaskraal
Shakaskraal is a town in Ilembe District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. The town is dominated by local businesses and informal traders and main activities located in and nearby is sugar cane farming.

Geography
Shakaskraal is situated on the northern banks of the uMhlali River surrounded by the hilly sugarcane plantations of the Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, which is the Greater Ballito area. The town is located approximately 3 km north of Umhlali and is located centrally to KwaDukuza and Ballito as it is 12 km north of Ballito and 15 km south-west of KwaDukuza.

Rail
Shakaskraal is served by the commuter railway service of Metrorail KwaZulu-Natal and lies on the North Coast Line which connects the town to Groutville and KwaDukuza in the north and Umhlali, oThongathi, Verulam and Durban in the south.
Roads
Shakaskraal lies on the R102 regional route which runs through the town as its main road and connects the town to Umhlali and oThongathi in the south-west and Groutville and KwaDukuza in the north-east. The R102 can be used an alternative route to Durban, Ballito (via the M4 near Compensation) and KwaDukuza for motorists avoiding the Mvoti (northbound) and oThongathi Toll Plazas (southbound) on the N2 highway.
The P467 route is a secondary road connecting Shakaskraal to the Palm Lakes Estate, the N2 Shakskraal Interchange (Exit 222) and the coastal village of Tinley Manor Beach to the east and the rural area of Glendale in the north-west.
Shakaskraal has access to the N2 highway (North Coast Toll Road) which bypasses the town to the east and runs from Ballito and Durban in the south to KwaDukuza in the north and intersects the Shakaskraal/Tinley Manor Beach interchange (Exit 222) which is the main access way from the N2 into Shakaskraal and vice versa. Alternatively, the Salt Rock/Umhlali interchange (Exit 214) also offers access from the N2 into Shakaskraal especially for northbound motorists.
Landmarks
The Shakaskraal Mosque is one of the most prominent landmarks and easily identifiable by its expansive dome towers and sits directly opposite the towns hardware and building supply store uShaka Megabuild.
