Activities
Sterling High School's athletic teams are known as the "Golden Warriors." Sterling High School is a member of the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference in the West division. Sterling is also member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), which governs most sports and competitive activities in the state.
For 27 consecutive years, Sterling High School's Group Interpretation team has competed in the IHSA Drama/Group Interpretation state finals. Since 2022, the team has been the sectional champions.
