The community is likely named for ancient Palmyra in Syria, whose local name is Tadmor (Arabic: Tadmur).[5]

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Tadmore had a population of 20 living in 10 of its 16 total private dwellings, a change of 0% from its 2016 population of 20.
