The Amazing Race Canada 9 is the upcoming ninth season of The Amazing Race Canada, a reality game show based on the American series The Amazing Race. It will feature teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, in a race across Canada and will be hosted by Jon Montgomery.

Production

Development and filming

On November 28, 2022, CTV announced the renewal of the show for a ninth season.[2][3] Filming for the ninth season was listed as occurring during Spring 2023.[4] Following the 11th Canadian Screen Awards on April 12, 2023, producer Mark Lysakowski announced that filming would begin during the next week.[5] On May 5, 2023, the show was spotted in Niagara-on-the-Lake.[6] The show was in Toronto on May 12 with Jon Montgomery and the production crew opening the Toronto Stock Exchange.[7] Later in the day, racers were spotted at Kensington Market.[8] On May 14, 2023, the show was filmed in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia.[9]

Casting

Casting for the ninth season opened on November 28, 2022.[3] Casting was initially set to close on January 6, 2023, but was extended to January 8, 2023.[10][11]

Cast

The cast includes Impact wrestlers Gail Kim and Gisele Shaw.[12][13][14]
