Tilak Varma
Namboori Thakur Tilak Varma (born 8 November 2002) is an Indian cricketer.[1][2] He made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 30 December 2018.[3] He made his Twenty20 debut for Hyderabad in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 28 February 2019.[4] He made his List A debut on 28 September 2019, for Hyderabad in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy.[5]

In December 2019, he was named in India's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.[6] In February 2022, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.[7][8]
Early life
Tilak Varma was born on 8 November 2002 in Hyderabad. His father, Nagaraju Varma worked as an Electrician and his mother, Gayatri devi is a housewife. He has an older brother, Tharun. Tilak developed a great interest in sports when he was too young. Tilak enrolled himself in the Legala Sports Academy,Telangana, to get trained in cricket. There, he was mentored by Salam Bayash. Tilak commenced his early education at Hyderabad Public School,Begumpet.
Domestic career
Tilak made his first-class debut, in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy on 30 December 2018. He played for Hyderabad in the tournament. His debut match was against Andhra. In the tournament, Tilak scored 215 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 147.26.He made his Twenty20 debut for Hyderabad in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 28 February 2019. He has appeared in four first-class matches, sixteen List A matches, and fifteen T20 matches. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22, he scored 180 runs in five games and took four wickets. On 28 September 2018, he made his List A debut for Hyderabad in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. During the tournament, he scored 180 runs in 5 games and also took 4 wickets. In December 2019, Tilak he made it to the U-19 Indian cricket squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He played 6 games in the competition and managed to score only 86 runs. In February 2022, during the 2022 Indian Premier League auction, The base price was Rs. 20 lakh and he was bought by Mumbai Indians at Rs. 1.7 crore. Tilak’s performance in the game was praised by the audience. In the second match of the league, Tilak scored a 33-ball-61 against Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. In April 2023, Tilak Scored 84*(46) runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first match.
