Tongoni, Tanga
Tongoni is an administrative ward in Tanga District of Tanga Region in Tanzania. The ward covers an area of 44 km2 (17 sq mi),[1] and has an average elevation of 30 m (98 ft).[2] According to the 2012 census, the ward has a total population of 4,594.[3] Tongoni ward is the home to the Tongoni ruins, a Medieval Swahili town.
