Undead Girl Murder Farce

Undead Girl Murder Farce (アンデッドガール・マーダーファルス, Andeddo Gāru Mādā Farusu) is a Japanese novel series written by Yugo Aosaki. It began publication in December 2015, with three volumes being published as of 2021. A manga adaptation illustrated by Haruka Tomoyama began serialization on Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine in June 2016, before moving to Nemesis in 2017, and then to the Comic Days website in 2018. The manga has been compiled into three tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Lapin Track will premiere on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block in July 2023.

Plot

Taking place between the late 19th century and early 20th century in a world filled with supernatural and magical creatures, Tsugaru Shinuchi, a half-demon, alongside servant Shizuku Hasei, leave Japan and embarks on a journey across Europe to retrieve the body of Aya Rindo, who was decapitated by an unknown villain prior to the start of the series with only Aya's head as the living evidence for the journey.

A young Meiji era woman and a demon, who is beheaded by an unknown half-demon assailant from Britain and has her headless body taken away. Since she is a demon, she cannot die (though being decapitated by a half-demon means she cannot heal herself) and thus her head continues to live on, ultimately seeks support from Tsugaru to search the assailant and take revenge.
Tsugaru Shinuchi (真打 津軽, Shinuchi Tsugaru)
Voiced by: Taku Yashiro[2]
A half-demon who is injected of the demon blood by the same assailant who beheaded Aya. As for the result, he has the demon power, though the demon part is stronger than his human part.

Manga

A manga adaptation illustrated by Haruka Tomoyama began serialization on Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine on June 25, 2016.[12] It later moved to Kodansha's Nemesis magazine on June 9, 2017.[13] After Nemesis ceased publication, the series was moved to the Comic Days website.[14] As of June 2018, three tankōbon volumes have been released.[15]

In May 2021, Kodansha USA announced that it had licensed the manga for English digital publication.[16]

Anime

An anime television series adaptation was announced during the "Fuji TV Anime Lineup Presentation 2023" on March 22, 2023. The series is produced by Lapin Track and directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama, with Noboru Takagi serving as head writer, Noriko Ito designing the characters based on Zerogo Iwamoto's concepts while also serving as chief animation director alongside Naho Kazono, and Yuma Yamaguchi composing the music. It will premiere in July 2023 on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block. Crunchyroll licensed the series outside of Asia.[2]
