Upper Barron is a rural locality in the Tablelands Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census, Upper Barron had a population of 451 people.[1]

History

Upper Barron State School opened on 31 January 1911.[3] It was mothballed on 31 December 2008 as there were only nine students.[4][5] It closed on 31 December 2009.[6] It was at 9570 Kennedy Highway (17.3827°S 145.5145°E / -17.3827; 145.5145 (Upper Barron State School (former))).[7][8] The school's website was archived.[9]

In the 2016 census, Upper Barron had a population of 451 people.[1]
