Wayne Ewasko

Wayne Ewasko is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in the 2011 election.[1] He represents the electoral district of Lac du Bonnet as a member of the Manitoba Progressive Conservative Party caucus.[2] He serves as The Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning. He was re-elected in the 2016 and 2019 provincial elections.

Online school closure

On February 3rd, 2023, The Manitoba Remote Learning Support Centre- the only online school for grades 1-8 in all of Manitoba was closed. The parents of the school disagreed with the decision. In response, in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba debates and proceedings Official Report (Hansard), Ewasko assured parents (page 1267) that school divisions are well placed to help kids, and that if they have further questions, to contact Ted Fransen, who oversees online learning for grades 9-12.[3][4][5]

Personal life

Ewasko is noteworthy as both a politician and a curler having previously been to the 2006, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2017 provincial championships.[6]
