Zorbeez

Zorbeez is a chamois cloth which is claimed by manufacturer Vertical Branding to be capable of absorbing over 20 fluid oz (600 mL) of liquid. It was claimed that the initial sales of the product were pleasing by the CEO of Vertical Branding Nancy Duitch.[1] It has been proven to work by the KCBD, when it was compared with a paper towel, and a cloth towel. It prevailed against the two other products.[2]

The product was popularized by American Pitchman Billy Mays, who advertised the product in 2009.[3]

In October 2022, Youtuber and Twitch streamer DougDoug uploaded a video titled "I threatened my viewers with a Discussion Robot". The video appears to be generally similar to his other content until it suddenly cuts off without warning to show the 2009 Zorbeez infomercial in its entirety; the video continues as normal afterwards and contains no acknowledgement of what happened.[4] As of February 2023, the video has received nearly one million views.

Shortly after uploading the video, DougDoug introduced a new feature to his Twitch channel: viewers could redeem 50,000 channel points for a 10% chance to "summon Billy Mays". If successful, the stream would be temporarily halted to play the entire Zorbeez infomercial.[5] This has since resulted in the infomercial being played several dozens of times (and counting) during DougDoug's streams, and subsequently in Zorbeez becoming a well-known inside joke in DougDoug's fanbase.
