History
Bentley was planned out in 1888. This was when the Kansas Midland Railway was built to that point. It was named after Orsemus Hills Bentley, a railroad official.[1][8]
The first post office in Bentley was created in March 1888.[9]
Geography
Bentley is at 37°53′11″N 97°31′2″W (37.886437, -97.517133).[10] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.30 square miles (0.78 km2). All of it is land.[2]
