Kumamoto
Kumamoto (熊本市, Kumamoto-shi) is the capital city of Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan.[1]

Kumamoto is in the south central part of Kyushu.[1] Kumamoto is an ordinance-designated city since April 1, 2012.
History
    
In 1600, Kumamoto Castle was built by Kato Kiyomasa; and the city grew around it.[1]
