Masera is about 130 kilometres (81 mi) northeast of Turin and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Verbania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,483 and has an area of 20.1 square kilometres (7.8 sq mi).[3]
Masera borders the following municipalities: Crevoladossola, Domodossola, Druogno, Montecrestese, Santa Maria Maggiore, Trontano.
