Thomas A. Hendricks
Thomas Andrews Hendricks (September 7, 1819 – November 25, 1885)[1] was a U.S. representative and a senator from Indiana, a governor of Indiana, and the twenty-first vice president of the United States (serving with Grover Cleveland).

Hendricks died in his sleep at home in Indianapolis on November 25, 1885.[2] Following his death, Congress changed the order of succession for the presidency by removing the leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives.
