Blue Mound is a city in Linn County, Kansas, United States. In 2010, 275 people lived there.[6] It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.[7]

Blue Mound was planned out in 1882. It was named Blue Mound because from far away, its elevation is said to look blue.[8]
