In the 2016 general election, he was defeated by the Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy. The party of Mariano Rajoy was believed to have had many corruption scandals. Because of this, a lot of people in the Spanish congress voted to remove him from presidency on 1 June 2018.[2] He later won elections in April 2019, but he did not have good governmental organizational skills. On November 2019 he won other elections and on 7 January 2020, he also formed a government with the party Unidas Podemos.[3] On 29 May 2023, Pedro Sánchez made an electoral advance of elections.
