Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Bengali: শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান; 17 March 1920 – 15 August 1975) was the founder of Bangladesh. He was the first president of Bangladesh. He was also the second prime minister. Rahman was assassinated on 15 August 1975 along with all his family members present at home that time.[1] He is popularly known as "Sheikh Mujib" or "Sheikh Sahib" and by his title "Bangabandhu". Early life
Rahman was born in Tungipara village of Gopalganj District.[2] His father, Sheikh Lutfur Rahman, was a serestadar, an officer responsible for record-keeping at the Gopalganj civil court. He is the third child of his parents.
