Note: Whitlock & Hale (2011) found that Ayenia is was embedded in Byttneria and Christenhusz et al., (2018) made the necessary combinations for Byttneria Loefl. (1758) under Ayenia L. (1756) to effect the transfer. However, not all authorities (Stevens, 2020) accept this expansion of Ayenia L. (1756) and so WS has to adopt a conservative position until consensus has been achieved.
