Etymology
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اولا (evvela, “firstly, in the first place”)[1], derived from Arabic أَوَّلًا (ʔawwalan), adverbial accusative of أَوَّل (ʔawwal, “first”),[2] with loss of the nunation, for the same construction compare mesela, mutlaka.
