From Proto-Albanian *en-pāginja, from Proto-Indo-European *peh₂ǵ-. Cognate with Greek πήγνυμι (pígnymi, “to make firm, to make stiff”), Latin pangō (“id”), Gothic fahan (“to catch”).[1]
