Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family, your classmates, co-workers, and your people on your campus. But there are people that look over your Facebook profile and that might affect employment, your criminal record, etc.

Don't overshare.

  1. Try not to post everything you do. If there is something you want your friends to hear or something cool happened, you can post about it. For example, "Braves won 7-2" sounds better than "I am taking a nap." Also, don't cram your feed with app junk, unless it is something cool you would like to show all your friends. Try to keep your interests to more hobbies or stuff you want to talk about with other, not random things to get tags.

If you go somewhere exciting (vacation, amusement park, etc.), it's OK to post a few pics. Funny things you see or hear are OK, too! Just think: would this make me smile if it weren't my post?
