How to Uninstall Google Music Manager

Although Google Play has discontinued their Google Play Music service, you may still have the Music Manager software installed on your computer. Uninstalling this application is pretty straightforward in Windows, but things get a little trickier if you have a Mac. This wikiHow teaches you how to properly uninstall the Google Play Music Manager from Windows and macOS.

Open Finder
. It's the two-toned smiley face on the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
- If the Music Manager is still open, close it before you continue.

Click the Go menu. It's in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Click Go to folder on the menu. A dialog window will appear.

Paste the path to your preferences into the field. Here's how:
- Highlight the following address with your mouse: ~/Library/PreferencePanes
- Press Command + C to copy it to your clipboard.
- Click the mouse once inside the typing area on the Go To Folder window.
- Press Command + V.

Click the Go button. This opens the folder that contains the file you'll need to delete.

Drag the file called MusicManager.prefPane to the Trash. It's the trash can icon on your desktop. Now you just have one more thing to delete.

Click the Go menu again. It's in the top menu bar.

Click Applications on the menu. This opens your app list.

Drag the Music Manager file to the Trash. This fully deletes Google Music Manager from your Mac.^{[1]

Delete your temporary music files (optional). Google Play Music Manager may have left some extraneous files on your Mac. Deleting them can save you hard drive space. Here's how:
- Click Go in the menu bar and select Go to.
- Copy ~/Library/Application Support/Google by pressing Command + C.
- Paste it into the typing area by pressing Command + V and click Go.
- Drag the MusicManager folder to the trash.
- Click Go in the menu bar and select Go to.
- Copy ~/Library/Preferences by pressing Command + C.
- Paste it into the typing area by pressing Command + V and click Go.

Open your Windows Settings
. It's the gear icon in your Windows/Start menu.
- If the Music Manager is still open, close it before you continue.

Click Apps. It's the option with four horizontal lines preceded by checkboxes.

Scroll down and tap Google Play Music Manager. Some options will appear below.

Click Uninstall. A confirmation message will appear.

Click Uninstall to confirm. Depending on your settings, you may have to give the uninstaller permission to remove the files from your computer.
