Wrexham announced their first pre-season tour for July and their inaugural visit to the United States and confirmed three friendly matches against Manchester United,[4] Chelsea[5] and LA Galaxy II.[6]
Before the entire squad tours the U.S., Wrexham will send a 7-on-7 side to the U.S. in early June to play in the first edition of The Soccer Tournament, a 32-team event created by the organisers of The Basketball Tournament. Similar to the basketball event, the football edition will have a US$1 million winner-take-all purse. Wrexham will be in a group featuring Italian Serie B side Como 1907, Say Word FC, a team which honors North Carolina and historically black colleges and universities within the U.S., and US Women, a side made up of former United States women's national soccer team members.[7]
