Amalapuram Assembly constituency

Amalapuram Assembly constituency is an SC reserved constituency in Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh, representing the state legislative assembly in India.[1] It is one of the seven assembly segments of Amalapuram Lok Sabha constituency, along with Ramachandrapuram, Mummidivaram, Razole, Gannavaram, Kothapeta, and Mandapeta.[2] Viswarupu Pinipe is the present MLA of the constituency, who won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from YSR Congress Party.[3] As of 25 March 2019, there are a total of 229,431 electors in the constituency.[4]

  1. The members of the first assembly of Andhra Pradesh who were elected from the 1955 election in the Andhra state were allowed a seven-year term. That is to say in 1957, elections were conducted in the newly added region of Telangana alone and then in 1962 general elections were held for the state as a whole.[6]
