Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Lal ji Verma won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Elections defeating Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Awadhesh Kumar Dwiwedi by a margin of 6,287 votes.[2]
