Description
Tin Shed Garden Cafe is a dog-friendly restaurant on Alberta Street in northeast Portland's King neighborhood.[2][3] The cafe has an outdoor dining area, a stone fireplace and chimney, and a menu for dogs.[4]
Tin Shed hosts Doggie Love Night on Tuesdays, as of 2018.[5] The promotion allows patrons to "buy one people-priced item and get one free dog dinner".[6] The restaurant provides cookies and water to dogs at no cost.[7]
Tin Shed uses compostable packaging and utensils, as of 2020.[8]
Menu
On the menu for people, a dish called The Cure has buttermilk biscuits and gravy (apple-wood smoked bacon or mushroom-rosemary varieties).[6] The restaurant also served breakfast burritos, shredded-potato cakes, and egg and tofu scrambles.[9] Among dog-themed scrambles are the Fetch, with eggs and bacon, and the Stay, which has greens, mushrooms, and roasted sweet potato.[10]
The dog menu has free-range meat options.[9]
History
Christie Griffin opened Tin Shed in 2002.[11] She still owns the business, as of 2020.[8]
Guy Fieri visited Tin Shed for an episode of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.[12][13][14] In 2020, the restaurant was featured in a PBS documentary called Breakfast Special.[15]
In 2020, Tin Shed was forced to close temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, but reopened with patio service by early September.[2]
