History

1915 Railroad Map of Reno County

Arlington was created in 1877.[7] It was named after Arlington, Massachusetts.[8] The first post office in Arlington was created in February 1878.[9]

In 1887, the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway built a railroad from Herington through Arlington to Pratt.[10]

Geography

Arlington is at 37°53′47″N 98°10′46″W (37.896363, -98.179313).[11] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 1.07 square miles (2.77 km2). All of it is land.[1]
