Ottawa County, Ohio

Ottawa County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 41,428.[1] The county seat is Port Clinton.[2] The county is named either for the Ottawa Indians who lived there, or for an Indian word meaning "trader".[3]

Ottawa County was formed on March 6, 1840 from parts of Erie, Lucas and Sandusky counties.
