Wainwright, Alaska

Wainwright is a city in Alaska. It is in North Slope Borough. The community was named after Wainwright Lagoon. The Lagoon was named after Lt. John Wainwright, who discovered the lagoon in 1826. Wainwright was founded in 1904.
