2023–24 La Liga

The 2023–24 La Liga, also known as La Liga EA Sports FC[2][3] due to sponsorship reasons, will be the 93rd season of La Liga, Spain's premier football competition. It will commence on 12 August 2023 and is scheduled to end on 26 May 2024.

Promotion and relegation (pre-season)

A total of twenty teams contest the league, including seventeen sides from the 2022–23 season and three promoted from the 2022–23 Segunda División. This includes the two top teams from the Segunda División, and the winners of the promotion play-offs.

Teams relegated to Segunda División

The first team to be relegated from La Liga were Elche, after a 2–1 loss to Almería on 2 May 2023, ending their three years stay in the top tier.
