2024 South Carolina Democratic presidential primary
The 2024 South Carolina Democratic presidential primary will be held on February 3, 2024, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2024 presidential election. 63 delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be allocated to presidential candidates.[1]

Unlike in prior Democratic primary cycles, South Carolina will be the first contest of the primaries, swapping places with the Iowa caucuses.[2][3]
Candidates
Incumbent President Joe Biden announced on April 25, 2023, his bid for a second term. He faces a primary challenge from author, progressive activist, and 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, and environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr.[4][5][6]
