  • February 3 – A Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister of Fumio Kishida, Masayoshi Arai said "I would not want to live next to, or look at the homosexual".[9][10] He was fired the following day.

March

  • March 15 – YouTuber and former MP Yoshikazu Higashitani is expelled by the House of Councillors for never attending parliament.[11] An arrest warrant was requested for him the following day.[12]
