Albany, Texas
Albany is a city in the state of Texas in the United States. It is the county seat of Shackelford County.[1] About 2,032 people lived there in 2010.[2] The city was named after Albany, Georgia.[1] The Cook oilfields were discovered in 1926.[1] They became a large part of the local economy. Ranching is the main occupation, raising sheep and cattle. The town slogan is "Albany, the Home of the Hereford."[1]
