Derby, Kansas

Derby is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. It is the biggest suburb of Wichita. In 2010, 22,158 people lived there.[5]

Geography

Derby is at 37°33′9″N 97°15′41″W (37.552407, -97.261492).[6] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 9.60 square miles (24.86 km2). Of that, 9.56 square miles (24.76 km2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) is water.[1]

Climate

Derby has hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. The Köppen Climate Classification system says that Derby has a humid subtropical climate. It is abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[7]
